On January 12th, 2010 Port Au Prince Haiti was hit by a devastating 7.0 earthquake that took the lives of thousands. Haitians wandered the dust-filled streets in groups as they witnessed the devastation. Survivors were forced to dig through rubble and lift sheets thrown over bodies to check for missing family members and friends. Many of the natives lived in poorly constructed homes that had no chance of withstanding an earthquake of this magnitude. Though most of them lost everything they owned they never lost their deep religious faith. After days and nights of survival in desperate need of aid and resources thousands still gathered in public squares to sing hymns exhibiting their national pride. Though this natural disaster has brought tragedy to Port Au Prince, life will continue. The future is with the Haitian children and their ability to grow stronger from their historic series of events and evolve Haiti into a better nation. The reconstruction and healing of Haiti will require a lot of support and attention from the American people for years to come. In an effort to bring relief to Haiti lets show extra attention to the youth of this nation. The Sons and Daughters of Haiti...

Bio
Born in Southern California, J. Taylor was a natural artist from childhood. This Dallas based, Los Angeles bred visual artist has contributed a unique collection of work that is cutting edge and versatile. His goal is to capture the individual essence of ones spirit as would a memoir. Through the use of mixed media, he combines rich colors, deep shadows, and dynamic compositions that make each painting unique. The intense colors reflect his personal connection and emotion to each subject. As an up and coming artist with a creative vision, he has a unique way of turning concepts into reality. He has been painting and drawing what he sees, hears and experiences for many years. His creative influences are derived from the Urban Lifestyle; the sound, smell, diverse culture and music of urban life provide the passion to express his everyday experiences through art. With his keen sense of business and his artistic talent he has been able to commission his work to a diverse client base. While there seems to be a lot of focus on trying to define what art is, he created Nsyde Out, an art group that focuses on the reality that art reveals.
