Life experiences are different for everyone which makes our perspectives different. We can learn what another person is going through, what they are feeling or what they need by listening to their point of view. Sometimes we avoid seeing things from others perspectives in fear that we may lose our own perspective. The truth is that we can articulate someone else’s perspective and gain understanding without accepting their point of view. Our goal should be to communicate a message of respect based on the satisfaction of the other person feeling understood. Respect that is given first is also earned. Opening our eyes to the ideas of others and seeing things from someone else’s lenses allows us to learn something new and become more versatile. We may even learn something new about ourselves if we would simply take off our blinders and SEE THROUGH.
